Frequently Asked Questions
We offer an introduction trial class at a reduced rate. This is the best way to try out our studio and meet the instructor and see if our program is a great fit for you.
We will introduce the color wheel, blending, shadows, highlights, touch lines, horizon lines while producing your first still life in easy to follow techniques using pencil and chalk pastels. The instructor will interact with you and find out what you are passionate about, what you would like to learn, and determine a path that will help fulfill your goals in art.
While we have always offered small class sizes and a clean and welcoming space, there are some additional procedures we have implemented to help keep everyone healthy and safe as we resume art in our physical studio. You can read about them in detail.
Afternoon and evening mixed age classes are 1-hour increments and adult morning classes are either 1.5 or 2-hours long. You are welcome to add more times and days if you wish, based on open class size availability. Many of our adult students feel after 1 hour they do not want to stop and love having the opportunity to continue for a 2nd hour.
We are on a monthly tuition where it is a flat rate for the monthly tuition without pro-rating. We do not want to have any confusion with pro-rating, there is no varying fee and it makes it easier for parents and students to know the cost as well as benefiting with some free art classes for the year. This monthly tuition method is in line with most extracurricular businesses and balances out for the 5 week months for the year (in the students & parents favor).

We try to keep art supply kits and art supply costs as low as possible. Due to the supply and demand issues over the past couple of years and inflation, prices are subject to change at any time based on wholesale cost fluctuations. Thank you for your understanding.
Studio H has all of the supplies available in a kit form for you to purchase for each medium program that we offer. We have many years of professional art experience and have extensively tested many art supplies over the years and have chosen the best products that can be used for beginners to advanced students with excellent results. When students buy or bring in subpar or low-quality supplies they can get frustrated and struggle to achieve their desired results in their artwork.
Due to our unique progressive project-based learning style we do not usually offer drop-in art classes. During our summer months, we may offer drop-in classes to current temporary inactive students to accommodate vacations and other summer activities. Drop-ins are based solely on student class openings for a specific day and time. We do however offer a one-time introduction trial art class that enables you to see if you like the studio, teaching methods, environment, and learning style, that will help you to make a decision with enrolling in our art studio.
