What age can my child start art classes at Studio H?We have evaluated our teaching methodologies and progressive project-based programs in a small group setting and have determined that the starting age of 10 is appropriate for the most comprehensive learning experience and best success in mastering the techniques taught at Studio H.

How much does it cost? When is tuition due?Tuition Billed on the first of every month. $115.00 a month for a 1-hour class per week. $160.00 a month for a 1.5-hour class per week. $207.00 a month for a 2-hr class per week. Additional classes taken are discounted at 16% off.

Do you offer a free trial class?We offer an introduction trial class at a reduced rate. This is the best way to try out our studio and meet the instructor and see if our program is a great fit for you.

What does an introduction trial class consist of?We will introduce the color wheel, blending, shadows, highlights, touch lines, horizon lines while producing your first still life in easy to follow techniques using pencil and chalk pastels. The instructor will interact with you and find out what you are passionate about, what you would like to learn, and determine a path that will help fulfill your goals in art.

When can I start?Anytime, since the small group classes are taught individually. Monthly tuition will be prorated.

Do I come for the same class time and day of the week?Yes, once you enroll you choose a class time and day of the week that remains the same unless you decide to change it.

Do you teach private classes?Our class sizes are small enough that we can individualize allowing each student to feel like they are receiving personalized one on one instruction.

What are the class sizes?We have a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 10.

How do your classes work? Does everyone do the same thing?Each small group class can be mixed from beginners to advanced levels and each student is individually taught. Every student is working on his or her own project in their chosen medium program. Art classes at the studio are for ages 10 to adult.

What COVID-19 precautionary measures are being taken?While we have always offered small class sizes and a clean and welcoming space, there are some additional procedures we have implemented to help keep everyone healthy and safe as we resume art in our physical studio. How long are the classes?Afternoon and evening mixed age classes are 1-hour increments and adult morning classes are either 1.5 or 2-hours long. You are welcome to add more times and days if you wish, based on open class size availability. Many of our adult students feel after 1 hour they do not want to stop and love having the opportunity to continue for a 2nd hour.

How many times a week are the classes?Based on our standard tuition classes are 1 hour once a week. You are always welcome to add more hours either on the same day or a different day based on class size availability.

What happens when there are more or less than 4 weeks in a month?We are on a monthly tuition where it is a flat rate for the monthly tuition without pro-rating. We do not want to have any confusion with pro-rating, there is no varying fee and it makes it easier for parents and students to know the cost as well as benefiting with some free art classes for the year. This monthly tuition method is in line with most extracurricular businesses and balances out for the 5 week months for the year (in the students & parents favor).

Can I do more than one medium at a time?Yes, you can. All you have to do is purchase the art supply kit for a one-time supply fee for each medium program chosen.

Do I have to bring or get my own supplies?No, we have all of the art supplies available in a supply kit form as well as loose refill supplies for you to purchase for each medium program that we offer.

How much are the supply kit fees?The supply kit fee covers all materials, paints, and supplies used in the studio during the chosen medium program. - Drawing-Pastel $ 30.00 - Watercolor $ 35.00 - Sketching $ 43.00 - Acrylic $ 124.00 *Canvases $ 80.00 - Oil $ 130.00 *Canvases $ 80.00 -Mixed Media Sketching $ 98.00 -Mixed Media Watercolor with Prisma Color Pencils $ 110.00 or with Ink Pens $ 41.00 *Canvas package fee is additional and not part of the supply kit fees. This package includes all of the canvases required to complete the chosen medium program. We try to keep art supply kits and art supply costs as low as possible. Due to the supply and demand issues over the past couple of years prices are subject to change at any time based on wholesale cost fluctuations. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I bring my own supplies?Studio H has all of the supplies available in a kit form for you to purchase for each medium program that we offer. We have many years of professional art experience and have extensively tested many art supplies over the years and have chosen the best products that can be used for beginners to advanced students with excellent results. When students buy or bring in subpar or low-quality supplies they can get frustrated and struggle to achieve their desired results in their artwork.

What mediums do you teach?Currently, we teach soft chalk pastels and pastel pencils, graphite pencils, Prisma colored pencils, Pigma Micron ink pens and brush pen, watercolors, acrylics, and water-soluble oils.

How long does each medium program take?It depends on each student’s comfort, skill level, and pace. Everybody has their own timeline and there is no pressure for completing projects in a specific amount of time.

Is every medium taught at different days and times?No, all classes have different levels, mediums, and ages.

I am a beginner, I do not have any art experience will these classes work for me?"Absolutely, we start at the very beginning and move at your pace in an easy to follow step by step project-based program. The instructor demonstrates the techniques and talks you through the process.

I have a lot of art experience do I have to start at the beginning?No, because we are able to individualize we can start based on assessing and discussing your past experience and future artistic goals.

I am an experienced artist looking for assistance with my current paintings can you provide guidance when I am stuck?We are always happy to help and guide students when they are stuck; illustrating techniques, adjusting perspectives, color mixing, highlights, shadows and any other processes needed to complete their artwork.

Do you have drop-in classes?Due to our unique progressive project-based learning style we do not offer drop-in art classes. We do however offer a one-time introduction trial art class that enables you to see if you like the studio, teaching methods, environment, and learning style, that will help you to make a decision with enrolling in our art studio.

Can family members and friends do classes together?Yes, absolutely we encourage families and friends to share in their art experience together at our studio. We offer family discounts of 20% off 2nd member, 30% off 3rd member, 50% off each additional family members monthly tuition (Applicable to immediate family members only).

I have a child interested in art classes can I drop off for class time and pick up at the end or do I have to stay there?We encourage parents to drop off when they can because we have limited observing space.

Do you have summer camp classes?No, because we maintain the same class times each day and week and are open all year.

Will I be in a class with different ages and levels?Possibly, each class can be mixed from beginners to advanced levels and ages 10 to adult. If you have a preference, we can advise the best class times based on student age, comfort, and learning style.

Do you have gift cards? Can I buy classes and supplies as a gift?Yes, we have gift certificates that cover art classes (1-month increments), art supplies, and media services. We also have sketch and mixed media pads, portfolio, desk easel, and we can special order specific art supplies if requested and these items can be placed in our Studio H gift bags.

Where are your classes located?We are located at 105 Coronado Ct. A small industrial area in South Fort Collins ½ of a mile South of Harmony Road off of College Ave and Cameron Street, (2 blocks south of the Max Bus station). We are in a white building and there is a driveway on the right side that leads to the lower level parking and where we are located in Suite B-101.

Does Studio H offer donations to schools, businesses, non-profits for fundraisers and auctions?"Yes, we love helping our schools, businesses, and local communities where we all live. Please contact us by email and we would be happy to provide donation art classes and media services gift certificates for your event.

We offer many creative services from art instruction to commissioned art projects, photography, videography, printing, and digital media editing to name a few. As a wife and husband duo that have a background in many areas of creativity, we are excited to offer many different services. What type of media services do you offer?We offer videography, photography, video editing, tape to DVD transfer, graphic design, photo and video montages, interviews, pet portraits, and commissioned artwork. Please ask us if you have any projects that you are not sure what is needed we would be happy to assist, recommend, advise, or provide a quote for us to perform the work needed to complete the project.
